INTACH presents 'An evening of Li'.

Our 2013 date with Delhi happened on the 15th of March. Following our long trip down south and loaded with heavy luggage, we finally ended up in good old Delhi. The gig was to be held at the India International Center and since our hosts had very kindly arranged for our stay at the IIC Delhi, Lodhi Road, we landed up a day ahead and were all set to showcase Li with a new audience.
This was to be an evening of Li organised by the INTACH along with the book release of publications about the North East.

The Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH), by the way, is India’s largest non-profit membership organization dedicated to conservation and preservation of India’s natural, cultural, living, tangible and intangible heritage.
So on the 15th afternoon, we ordered lunch and got ready for the Sound check which was to be preceded by a video interview with CNN-IBN. Lunch was late and we had to go for our Sound check hungry. The Interview went smoothly and the Sound check, much delayed, finally fell into place and we rushed off to lunch just two hours before we had to be backstage.
The sounds of the Tati fills up the auditorium.
We wolfed down our delicious lunch comprising of rice, dal, mixed vegetables, some chicken - all part of the generous IIC's Indian Thali Lunch. And right on time, we were ready to storm the stage. The show did get a little delayed. Another half an hour for the proceedings of the book release to take place and then we were invited to take the stage. Not too late by Delhi standards and there we were, giving our best to our audience.

A good hour later, we were finally doing the Rhosi moves to wind up the show.
O Rhosi!
INTACH had organized felicitations and we were gifted beautiful flowers and handy souvenirs. Then came the photo-ops and a couple of Interviews and a round of folk dancing with some of our very enthusiastic new Li fans.
Flowers for the ladies.
Lisapila Anar, the person who made this gig happen was there to congratulate us and introduce us to some special guests. Thank you Lisa.
Then, there were the few press interviews to attend to before we were ushered off to a very special dinner spread at the IIC Annexe.

Suffice to say it was wonderful to perform in Delhi again and besides the lovely evening where Li found new fans and we met a lot of like minded people who are working hard to promote and preserve Culture, we also had an opportunity to experience a comfortable stay and some exciting fare at the IIC guest house, all thanks to the wonderful people of INTACH. Here's looking forward to more of such great exchanges. Hiyohey!
